“If you want to achieve greatness, stop asking for permission.”

Before starting the Amal Career Preparation Fellowship, I was not sure whether I would be able to complete this fellowship or not because it was the first of this kind of experience for me before I never did any fellowship like that. I am taking it very easy.

In my mind I am thinking that due to some study or work reasons I couldn’t complete this fellowship program but I made a promise to myself to complete this at any condition.

At the start of the fellowship, I was having some confusion regarding my goals and aims. It was difficult for me to identify my passion and the right path to achieve this passion. I remembered that day when my friend (Amal Alumni) told me about this fellowship. When I submitted my application, I am positively sure about my enrollment.

When I received that email about passing the application process I was really excited, that was the first time I had this confidence that I can achieve everything through my hard work and dedication. Joining the Amal fellowship has helped me in determining a lot of my hidden skills, talent and goals. In starting days, I had no idea how much I would learn from my experience with the organization in the next months.

The main purpose of this blog as my project work is one positive thing I learned during my fellowship that is so hard to decide as I learned so many new things like new skills and knowledge but will be sharing a one beautiful journey of my life. It’s a journey of moving from unimportant to important during my fellowship at Amal.

The first two to three weeks were very important for me because in these weeks we have identified why we are here, by identifying our goals, why’s behind goals. Another was Amal’s Principles and Amal values really helpful throughout life. Also, I learned about the unique concept of connecting dots “life Map” and the Amal values which were Responsibility, Humility, Growth, Acceptance, and Honesty.

  • Honesty: Just be honest in every life affair and remember honesty is the best policy.
  • Responsibility: I am not a responsible guy in my life. But during my fellowship I realized the responsibilities of life which you never ignored.
  • Humility: It’s the greatest feeling ever to live a humble life because God never like arrogance. If you are humble you can achieve everything in life which you wish for.
  • Growth: It’s come only through continuous learning lessons and struggle. Growth is mandatory in life.
  • Acceptance: We cannot change anything unless we accept it. Without acceptance of pros and cons we cannot reach our milestone. Acceptance comes from rejection.

These Amal Values inspired me a lot, not just in this fellowship but also in the practical life. I considered or implemented these values from the day I heard about them. I try to be as honest as possible and help people as much as I can. For me, honesty is not just something about speaking the truth, but it is something that should be reflected in every act. Remember the act of kindness.

These lovely activities during the session are unforgettable. Which will always remain in my memories. The whole batch is full of wonderful people and talent.

The most important and best thing about fellowship is that I meet new beautiful souls. I always like to meet or interact with new faces because in every interaction you learn or get knowledge of something new. I made a new friend from there.

“Find a group of people who challenge and inspire you; spend a lot of time with them, and it will change your life.” — Amy Poehler

This journey is not over but in reality it’s a new start. I will never forget these memories. Amal fellowship is the best initiative PepsiCo takes. This fellowship inspired me a lot.

In the end, I am very thankful to my Program Manager Sir Noor Alam and Program Associate Ma’am Ayesha Ahmad, my Amal fellows (Batch-180), and the whole Amal Academy team.

(Muhammad Numan Batch-180 is signing off now.)
